Amazon Web Services

Amazon Web Services provide core solutions that we can use to solve the challenges of media and contents distributions. Following are few building blocks we have utilized from AWS:

Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3)
Amazon S3provides massive amounts of storage capacity with the security and reliability of Amazon’s infrastructure built-in. Instead of having to provision and maintain file servers, one can simply use Amazon S3 and take advantage of Amazon’s world class data-center management. We can store unlimited number of media objects, paying only for resources as they are used, without having to worry about acquiring and maintaining a server infrastructure.

Amazon CloudFront:
For added performance in distributing your content, Amazon CloudFront offers a content delivery network with 14 edge locations around the world. This reduces the latency for your users – increasing performance and responsiveness by placing your content in edge locations closest to your users.

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2):
With Amazon EC2, we can build scalable, reliable applications that efficiently process and deliver your media files. Amazon EC2 gives you massive compute power to help you tackle even the most challenging media hosting tasks faster and more cost-effectively than with alternative or on-premise solutions.

Winfoware - AWS Offerings
Winfoware delivered to its several customers the implementation of EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) and Amazon's S3 (Simple Storage Service) services and have extensive experience in adapting existing Internet technologies and practices into the new wave of infinitely scalable solutions. Winfoware has deployed several applications on the Ec2 environments. Amazon EC2 provides hosting of applications with massive compute power to help tackle even the most challenging media hosting tasks faster and more cost-effectively than with alternative or on-premise solutions.

Winfoware has implemented S3 services as it is a highly scalable and fast Internet data-storage system that makes it simple to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere in the world. S3 is an industrial-strength platform that is readily available for data storage needs. It's implemented for:

  • Enterprise applications content repository in the S3 Servers.
  • Enterprise archival & backups of the contents.
  • Enabling quickly and cheaply distributing media and other bandwidth-guzzling content

AWS Benefits:

  • Cost-effectiveness: We need to pay only for the compute power, storage, and other resources we use, with no long-term contracts or up-front commitments.
  • Security: AWS utilizes an end-to-end approach to secure and harden our infrastructure, including physical, operational, and software measures.
  • Flexibility: AWS enables select ion of operating system, programming language, web application platform, software, and other services. This eases the migration process for existing applications while preserving options for building new solutions.
  • Reliability: With AWS, we can take advantage of scalable, reliable, and secure global computing infrastructure, the virtual backbone of Amazon.com’s multi-billion dollar retail business that has been honed for over a decade.
  • Scalable and high-performance: Amazon’s massive compute capacity and storage enables to scale application as business grows.
